A new stamp or stamp set will be issued every few months. As often as possible, each new stamp will work the BASICS stamps already available. Other stamps will be stand-alone sets for a specific design.
An Apple for the Teacher
I needed a really special idea to assemble the 2023 Upper County Quilt Show challenge blocks. Every year, they provide a scrap of fabric (red in 2023) and a theme (One-Room Schoolhouse in 2023) for participants to make a block. The blocks are displayed at the quilt show and voted upon by the public.
After much pondering and discarding multiple ideas, I designed “An Apple for the Teacher” with apple core blocks used for the sashing. I’m in love with the result and can’t wait to show it at the 2025 Upper County Quilt Show in June!
The pattern includes a traditional apple core with scalloped edges, an alternate design with straight edges, and the Apple for the Teacher design.
Wall Flowers
Wall Flowers is a simple variation of the spool block. The pattern is available as a free download and uses three BASIC stamps:
BASIC Stamp A - 1” square
BASIC Stamp C - 1” half-square triangle (HST)
BASIC Stamp H - spool
