Apple Core Stamp Set
I needed a really special idea to assemble the 2023 Upper County Quilt Show challenge blocks. Every year, they provide a scrap of fabric (red in 2023) and a theme (One-House Schoolhouse in 2023) for participants to make a block. The blocks are displayed at the quilt show and voted upon by the public. The Upper Country Quilt Show is located in Cambridge, Idaho, and is one of the best small-town quilt shows around.
After much pondering and discarding multiple ideas, I designed “Apple for the Teacher” with apple core blocks used for the sashing. I’m in love with the result and can’t wait to show it at the 2025 Upper County Quilt Show in June!
It took all my math skills to make an apple core design to fit a 12” block. As a result, the apple core is a goofy size, a few hairs over 4-1/4”.
The set includes the apple core stamp plus four partial apple core stamps.
The pattern includes a traditional apple core with scalloped edges, an alternate design with straight edges, and the Apple for the Teacher design. The pattern does not include the 12” schoolhouse blocks.
